Reflection

The three participants I interviewed had a strong interest in the universe from a young age. After interviewing this audience curious about space elevators, I gained many new insights. For example, the cost of riding a space elevator will depend on the cost of the elevator itself and maintenance expenses. According to two participants, the price of a space elevator is estimated to be around $50,000 to $80,000. This price depends on the elevator's passenger capacity and required maintenance costs. The price will also be reduced if the space elevator can carry more people. Additionally, prices will decrease as competition in the space elevator market intensifies among companies.

Safety features are also essential in the design of a space elevator. The space elevator needs to have emergency plans in place to deal with unexpected situations. For example, in dangerous circumstances, the space elevator should be equipped with emergency escape pods to ensure passenger safety. Overall, these insights give us a more comprehensive understanding of issues such as the cost, safety, and industry competition of space elevators.
